Dr Jessica Sheehan MBBS FRACGP
Dr Jess Sheehan is a highly experienced and dedicated General Practitioner (GP) who graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2002, followed by completing her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2008.
After many years working in General Practice, she chose to join the Re:You Health team in 2019. Since this time, she had focused solely on the subspecialty of metabolic and bariatric medicine, developing a deep understanding of the pathophysiology and management of obesity as a complex and chronic medical condition.
Jess provides holistic, personalised care that includes behavioural and lifestyle support, chronic disease management, pharmacotherapy, and peri-operative care for metabolic bariatric surgery. She has a special interest in helping women prepare for pregnancy by optimising metabolic health to support the best possible fertility outcomes.
Known for her collaborative approach, Jess works closely with allied health practitioners, specialists, and your regular GP to ensure your care is coordinated and patient-centred. Alongside her work as a bariatric GP, Jess is also a surgical assistant across multiple specialities. This ongoing work strengthens her understanding of pre-operative health optimisation to improve the safety and outcomes of all surgical procedures.
Jess is committed to guiding patients through their management options with clarity and compassion, helping them achieve realistic and sustainable improvements in their metabolic health and overall well-being.
